Sacred Heart Church
May 13, 2025, 6:30pm, Cardington, OH
Topic: God’s Recipe for Authentic Joy and Freedom
In this presentation, Ed will explain how unfortunate it is that many people see God’s Commandments as just a list of outdated rules, imposed by on us by a demanding God that restrict our freedom. He will then provide the true and refreshing perspective of how God’s AMAZING Commandments are relevant every day, given to us by an All-Loving God as the foundation for building strong families, strengthening relationships and experiencing authentic joy and freedom.
Location: Sacred Heart Church, 4680 U.S. Rt. 42, Cardington, OH 43315-9512
Toledo Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Day of Renewal Retreat
May 14, 2025, 9am-3pm, Cary, OH
Two talks: 9:15am & 1:30pm
Topic 1 : God’s Recipe for a Wonderful Life
In this presentation Ed will unpack each of the Commandments by explaining how the Commandments are relevant in everyday life, the natural consequences of disobeying the Commandments and the blessings of trusting them. Ed will illustrate how each Commandment protects something that is holy and sacred (i.e. truth, life, our sexuality) and how the Commandments call us to greatness and joy and lay the foundation for a wonderful life.
Topic 2 : Go Therefore…
Before sending the retreatants back into the world, it is important that we solidify what they have learned and what the Holy Spirit has done for them during the retreat. In this last presentation, Ed will commission the retreatants to not just incorporate the Commandments into their lives, but to be disciples of the Commandments by teaching the Commandments to the children in their lives, other family members and their friends. This presentation is based on Matthew 28:19-20.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
In this talk Ed will provide a plan of action and resources to help the retreatants continue to grow in their understanding of the Commandments, strength their desire to live them and aid them in explaining the Commandments to others.
Location: The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street, Cary, OH 43316
